Eco Bhavana (PT Mitra Eco Bhavana) is a custom woven baskets supplier based in Yogyakarta and Klaten, Central Java, Indonesia. We manufacture OEM and private label woven baskets, laundry hampers, and pendant lamp shades from rattan, seagrass, water hyacinth, pandanus, mendong, and banana fiber — built to your specifications, branded to your label, and shipped factory-direct to your destination port.
Our OEM program covers the complete product development cycle: from the first sketch or reference sample through to production samples, bulk manufacturing, compliance documentation, and export packing. Whether you are launching a new private-label home décor range, extending an existing basket line, or sourcing a bespoke collection for a hospitality fitout, Eco Bhavana has the craft expertise, production capacity, and export infrastructure to deliver.
Our custom woven basket OEM program serves a wide range of B2B buyer types:
Almost every aspect of a woven basket or lamp shade can be customized through our OEM program. Here is what buyers most commonly specify:
We develop new basket and lamp shade forms from buyer-supplied sketches, 2D technical drawings, 3D renders, or physical reference samples. Common custom forms include non-standard proportions (extra-tall, extra-wide, or squat versions of standard basket shapes), irregular organic forms, geometric cage constructions, and multi-component sets (nesting sets, stacking sets, or matched storage collections). Development samples are produced within 21–28 days of brief confirmation.
We work with six natural weaving fibers: rattan, seagrass, water hyacinth, pandanus, mendong, and banana fiber. Each offers a distinct texture, weight, and aesthetic character suited to different market segments. Buyers can also specify mixed-fiber constructions — for example, a rattan frame with seagrass surface weave, or a water hyacinth body with leather trim. We advise on fiber suitability for the intended application, end-user environment, and target retail price point.
Our artisans produce a wide range of weave constructions: open cage weave, close weave, herringbone, checker, diagonal stripe, and rope-twist patterns. For lamp shades, we also produce double-layer weave constructions that create light-shadow effects when illuminated. Entirely new weave patterns can be developed from buyer reference images or custom pattern briefs, subject to minimum order quantities.
Standard surface finishes include natural (untreated), whitewash, honey-glaze, smoked, grey-wash, charcoal, and black-dyed. For buyers who need a specific color to match a product range or interior palette, we offer custom color matching using water-based stains and natural dyes. Spot-dyed, ombre, and colorblock effects are available on selected fiber types. Finish samples are provided before bulk production for approval.
Basket handles in leather, cotton rope, rattan, bamboo, and metal bar options. Lid hardware including rattan-frame, fabric-covered, and solid wood lids. Planter liner inserts in plastic and coir. For pendant lamp shades, we can fit E27 lamp holders, fabric-braided pendant cord sets in custom colors and lengths, and ceiling canopies — with EU, US, AU, and UK plug and fitting specifications available.
We arrange full private-label branding through our local packaging partners:
Packaging setup costs (label tooling, print plate fees) apply for new artwork and are quoted separately. Packaging proofs are provided digitally for approval before production.

Our OEM process is designed to be straightforward for buyers who are new to Indonesian manufacturing, and flexible enough for experienced sourcing managers with detailed technical briefs.
Share your brief: reference images or sketches, target dimensions, fiber preference, finish, handle or trim options, branding requirements, target retail price point, and destination market. You do not need a fully finished technical drawing — a mood board and written description is enough to start. We respond with an indicative price range, recommended fiber and construction, and development timeline within one business day.
We produce a physical development sample within 21–28 days. For complex forms or new weave patterns, we may produce a preliminary 3D paper or wire prototype first for proportion and scale confirmation before committing to full weave sampling. Sample costs are invoiced at production cost and credited in full against your first bulk order above the applicable MOQ.
You receive the physical sample, review it against your brief, and either approve for bulk production or request revisions. Standard revision rounds (dimension adjustment, finish change, handle modification) are completed within 7–14 days. Major structural changes (new frame construction, entirely different weave) are treated as a new development and re-sampled within 21–28 days.
Once the sample is approved, you confirm the purchase order and pay the 30% TT deposit. Production begins within 5 working days. We share production progress updates — including photos of the first-off production unit and mid-production batch check — via WhatsApp or email throughout the production cycle.
Completed production undergoes our standard three-stage quality inspection. Buyers who want an independent pre-shipment inspection (SGS, Intertek, Bureau Veritas) can arrange this at cost. Once inspection is passed and the balance payment is received, we coordinate container booking, prepare all export documentation, and notify you of the vessel and ETD.
Indonesia is one of the world’s leading sources of handwoven natural fiber products for two reasons: raw material abundance and craft tradition. Rattan, seagrass, water hyacinth, pandanus, and mendong grow across the Indonesian archipelago, giving manufacturers direct access to diverse fiber types without the import costs that affect competitors in other countries.
Yogyakarta, where Eco Bhavana is based, is a recognized center of Indonesian craft production. The city’s vocational training culture and established network of skilled artisan communities means that complex, labor-intensive weave constructions — the kind that differentiate premium private-label ranges from commodity imports — can be produced at scale in a way that is simply not replicable in countries without this craft infrastructure.
For wholesale buyers, this translates to a practical advantage: you can access genuinely differentiated, handcrafted products with a compelling provenance story, at price points that support healthy retail margins, from a supplier with the compliance and logistics capability to serve regulated markets in the US, EU, and Australia.
There is no minimum design difference requirement. Some buyers start by customizing finish and branding only on an existing stock design — that is a perfectly valid OEM program. Others bring entirely new forms that we have never produced before. Most private-label programs fall somewhere in between: a familiar basket form, adjusted proportions, a specific finish, and branded packaging. Whatever your starting point, we can work with it.
Yes. We do not share custom designs, technical drawings, or buyer briefs with other buyers or third parties. For buyers with specific IP protection requirements, we are willing to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) before the brief is submitted. Design exclusivity is maintained for 12 months from first bulk production, subject to agreed volume commitments.
Yes. We produce development samples (1–3 pieces) before any bulk commitment. For buyers who want to test market response before placing a full bulk order, we can discuss a pre-production run of 30–50 pieces on selected stock-construction styles, quoted as a separate line item. Contact us to discuss your situation.
We will assess feasibility and advise honestly. If a design requires a weave construction or material outside our current capability, we will say so rather than attempt production and deliver a poor result. In most cases we can suggest an alternative construction that achieves the same visual outcome within our proven production capability.
Yes. Custom shapes developed through our OEM program are held exclusively for the commissioning buyer for 12 months from first bulk production, subject to agreed annual volume commitments. Exclusivity is documented in the purchase order terms. At the end of the exclusivity period, we discuss renewal based on the buyer’s ongoing volume intentions.
