Water Hyacinth Openwork Pendant Lamp Shade (Cylinder) is a woven lamp shade only — wiring, socket, and bulb are not included. It’s a straight-sided cylinder built over vertical support bars, with Water Hyacinth woven in an open pattern between them.
The vertical bars do more than hold the shape. They also control how the light comes through — instead of the scattered, dappled pattern our diamond-lattice shades throw, this one lets light escape in clean, defined vertical bands running the height of the cylinder. It reads as more architectural, less organic.
That structural framing is also what lets it hold a true cylinder shape at this scale. A pure fiber weave this size, with no internal bars, would lose its straight sides over time — the cage keeps it rigid.
Water hyacinth for this piece comes from rivers and lakes around Klaten and Yogyakarta in Central Java, same source as the rest of our range.
